Tutorial introduction

You've always wanted to create 3D models or entire videos, but were afraid to switch from 2D shape animation to 3D?

This course will help you overcome your fear of 3D and bring you into the 3D world forever. You no longer want to create 2D animations and create fake 3D and animation paths in After Effects. Cinema 4D is a world of new possibilities. During the course, we immerse you in this world. We will deal with modeling and its creation of types, animations and materials. We'll cover lighting setup and rendering.

We will consolidate all this knowledge in practical sessions, as practice is an integral part of your progress. You will be able to create full-fledged 3D videos.

What will I learn in the 2D to 3D course?

Lesson 1

Software Introduction

In this lesson, we will introduce the program interface. We'll learn what the Object Manager is and the types of objects in Cinema. We'll discuss the workflow and install some useful plugins.

Lesson 2

Introduction to Modeling

In this lesson, we will learn about types of modeling and modeling methods.
We'll learn what deformers and generators are, and which are most commonly used to create models. Let's figure out what MoGraph is and how Fields work.

Lesson 3

spline modeling

We will find out the possibilities and options for using splines in modeling.
We will introduce generators for creating spline-based models.
In practice, we'll recreate some objects from the promotional video.

Lesson 4

polygon modeling

In this lesson we will consider types of polygonal models. We'll look at tools for working with polygons and geometry optimization.
In practice, we will consolidate what we have learned.

Lesson 5

Subdivision Surface Modeling

We will analyze the general principles and technical details of subdivision modeling. We will consolidate this knowledge in practice and create a 3D model of the joystick.

Lesson 6

use light

Since this topic is about rendering, let's take a look at Redshift.
We'll discuss using lights and light effects and consider the best lighting options.

Lesson 7

Materials and UV

In this lesson we will learn how to create, apply and customize materials.
We'll look at the principles of creating UVs and baking textures.

Lesson 8

make into

We'll look at rendering and how to set up the Redshift renderer. We will create the final image.

Lesson 9

Animation in Cinema 4D

In this lesson, we'll introduce you to animations, their types, and the general workflow. We'll cover the fundamentals of object animation, simple deformer animation, and creating loops. We'll also discuss general principles of working with bones and setting weights.
We will animate the last shot in the promo video.

Lesson 10

Compositing in After Effects

In this lesson, we'll take a look at how to structure a project in After Effects. We will discuss how to properly import sequences, null objects and cameras from Cinema 4D. We'll combine 2d elements using a 3d combination sequence.
